Becca Turns 1!!!!
Welcome Plant Season!!!!
***Disclaimer: Sorry for the lack of posting in January! I still have to cover Becca's Birthday and then I will be caught up. January handed us some curveballs, one which included a Paintball accident (eye) for Matt (He is thankfully almost 100% better) which meant January was spent in the Eye Doctors office or on the phone with the eye doctor! Also, we had some other "issues" arise that we did not see coming, so needless to say we are extremely glad that January is OV-A!!!! Hopefully that explains the lack of blogging! I hope to get to once a week in February!
So plant season has officially arrived. For those of you who don't know Matt work for Bonnie Plant Farm out of Union Springs, Alabama. The same company my Dad worked for and also my brother works for them as well! His route consists of Northern Tennessee and Middle/Southeast Kentucky! So February 1 has rolled around which mean Matt is off to Knoxville for work!
Most people don't know how we have this interesting relationship, but this is our 3rd time around! It does not get any easier. Love does not make the heart grow fonder, it makes the heart MAD. It sucks to go to weddings, showers, parties, etc. by yourself! I mean I am married, which means I should have a consitent date to every function I attend! All that ranting is just some of the emotions that are felt over the 6 months! There are a lot of tears, anger toward him for leaving, and just plain sadness he is not here for every day living! That being said I am extremely glad that Matt has a job that provides for our family, and that he gets to be off for all the major holidays and both of our birthdays, which is a HUGE plus!
So here's to another Plant Season beginning! Hoepfully the weather will continue to improve and the company can sell some plants this season! If you have a garden or want a garden, check out your local garden supply, Wal-Mart, Lowe's, Home Depot, or Co-Op to find Bonnnie Plants! They are also on Facebook: Search Bonnie Plants. This week the profile picture is of a Tomato Plant. They post daily about tips and tricks to gardening! They also have a wonderful website: http://www.bonnieplants.com/! Do you look up tutorials on YouTube? Well head on over to www.youtube.com/growbonnieplants to find helpful videos!!
Hope y'all enjoyed my little plug about Bonnie! Can you tell that I want a good plant season!?!?!?!!?
Matt, I love you so much and I am so thankful for all you do....Even if it means spending 6 months in 2 different states! Thanks for providing for me, Waylon and Jennings :) hahahaha....We love you!
Oh, also, Matt is going to try and blog about his experiences on the plant route. Once his blog is up and running I will add a link to it on my side bar!

Christmas 2011
Christmas 2011 was a whirlwind to say the least! I wish I had enough patience to put all the pictures of every event we did on the blog, but I do not! I also am ashamed to be just now putting events that happened almost a month ago on the blog! Oh well....Life Happens!
***This post is full of pictures with some words on the side! I hope to get myself caught up and then be able to do weekly post!!!****
12/21/2011 I started my Christmas Break by going to The American Girl Boutique with my 3 nieces, my mom, and my sister Nickel. The girls got their dolls from my mom and their parents for Christmas! They were excited and it was a fun, but very rainy day! We shopped, ate lunch at the mall, and even rode a carousal! Fun was had by all and I cannot wait to go again sometime to take my doll! (Matt is rolling his eyes right about now!)
12/23/2011 Christmas Eve Eve and Christmas Eve, Matt and Chip worked on resurfacing Mom's dock! It was a surprise to her and I am so glad they work so hard to get it ready for the summer!
I wish I had taken before, during, after pictures...but stay tuned for this summer! I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to share of it!
12/24/2011 Christmas Eve was spent cooking, cleaning, and wrapping presents! That is when I wasn't holding precious Baby Eddie! We were all at home on Christmas Eve, so we all headed to Church for Candlelight Christmas Eve service, then went back to Mom's for all kinds of Crock Pot concoctions and decadent desserts! We were blessed to be surrounded by our great friends and family! The little kids even decorated Santa cookies and then were ready to get in the bed!
All the girls decorating their cookies!
12/25/2011 Christmas morning was filled with toys, clothes, and lots of fun! It is always amazing to see Christmas through children's eyes! They were so excited about Santa coming! Lawson was a little weird about Santa actually coming in the house, but she seemed to enjoy the presents!

Christmas Time is Coming!
A Christmas Post in bullet form:
- I have 2 more days left of school! Wahoo!
- I have a staff party Tuesday night and it should be a lot of fun.
- Wednesday, me, mom, Nickel, and the girls are going to the American Girl store in Atlanta. I am so excited because I have an American girl, but I never got to actually go to the store and shop!(not that I will be buying anything this trip)
- Matt is already in Dadeville helping out at Camp, and I will leave Thursday morning and head down with the cat, dog, and all our Christmas goodies!
- Me, my brother, my sister, our spouses, and the nieces and nephew will be at my mom's Christmas Eve/ Chrsitmas Day so it should be an interesting weekend! Of course exciting as always. (this will be the first time since Eddie was born that we will all be at the house together!
- We are leaving the day after Christmas (once Matt and his friends play paintball) to spend the rest of Christmas Break in North Carolina!
- We will return New Year's Eve and hopefully lay low that weekend because I start school again on January 3rd, Matt has to go to Knoxville for a week in mid-January, I have state testing, and then we have to prepare for Matt to leave for Knoxville until July!
I will definitely blog sometime over the break, hopefully in between Christmas in Dadeville and North Carolina! I hope you and your family has a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

The Cat and his Mice
This precious angel, Jennings, has recently found that he loves mice! Sunday morning I was awoken to the sound of a squeaking mouse scampering in our bedroom. I shook Matt awake and told him that he had to get the mouse out immediately! So he got up and picked the mouse up in a bag and threw it outside. It unfortunately did not make it past where Matt threw him in the yard. Well, Sunday we both get in the bed pretty early and about an hour and a half later I hear squeaking again. So I wake Matt up again and tell him to get up and get the mouse out! Being the loving husband he is he got up and took care of the mouse, again! I decided then that the cat was not allowed in our bedroom anymore. That lasted about 4-5 hours until the cat realized he was locked out and whined/cried/scratched at the door. So I let him in. Well at 4:45 AM I hear the squeaking again and wake Matt up, but he refuses to get up so for the next hour I listened to Jennings playing with this mouse and praying that he did not bring it on the bed! When we both finally got up I told Matt to grab the mouse and get it out...Well before Matt could grab the mouse Jennings scooped it up in his mouth and ran to the basement. I closed the cat in the basement and wished him luck. While I was getting ready this morning, Matt went to get his pants from the dryer and he told me to come look downstairs. What did I see? My precious Jennings tearing that poor mouse to pieces and eating him. So needless to say Jennings is banished to the basement until it is warm again. I just DO NOT DO MICE!
This look just like those little mice that Jennings was terrorizing!

1 Year Later
I can't believe that one year ago today I married the Man of My Dreams! We had a long, complicated, 3 states away courtship that turned into a quick engagement and a dream wedding. This year has brought us 5 1/2 months apart, a cat, a niece, a nephew, a coaching job, the house buying process, countless trips to North Carolina, 2 birthdays (one bringing Matt closer to 30 and me closer to 25!), friend's babies, ups/downs, on and on and on. I could recap everything that we have done but that would take forever! I also feel that if you want to know what we have done over the past year just check out the December-December of the blog! I found this idea on Pintrest and you take a picture each year on your anniversary with a picture of the year before. So we held a picture of our wedding day! (Next year we will hold this picture, so on and so on!) I think it is a super cute idea! Matt, I love you more today than yesterday and I cannot wait for the next 65+ years!
I was not really into the whole tradition of freezing the top of the cake and then eating it a year later, so Mrs. Kelly made us a replica and it was delicious!!
Saturday night we went to eat at Bellini's in Hoover. I found it on Urbanspoon and it was delicious. Matt had the Filet and I had pan seared Grouper. Since it was our Anniversary we got a free dessert. We decided on their White Chocolate Bread Pudding. All in all the dinner was fabulous and it was fun to get dressed up and go out!
Our Cake that Mrs. Kelly made for us! |
It was sssssooooo good at our Wedding and this replica was amazing as well!!! |
